Roots — Terms of Use

By creating an account or claiming a place in a family tree, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Roots. Contact: hello@illsn.xyz.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for what happens under your account; add an email in Settings to be able to recover it on a new device.

Content you add

Names, photos, birth years and relationships you enter are your content. You keep ownership; you grant us the license needed to store it and show it to the relatives connected to it — that's the entire use. By adding content you promise that:

• you add only people you genuinely know as family, using information you're entitled to share;
• photos you upload don't contain nudity, violence, or anything unlawful, and you have the right to use them;
• you won't impersonate anyone, harass anyone, or use profiles to abuse, defame or expose another person.

Moderation

Every profile can be reported in the app (hold a person → Report), and you can block another member so their contributions disappear from your view (Settings shows who you've blocked). We review reports and may remove content or terminate accounts that break these terms. You can also reach us at hello@illsn.xyz.

People you add before they join

Profiles of relatives who haven't joined yet are managed by whoever added them, until the real person claims their place via an invite. Anyone can ask for a profile about them to be removed — see the Privacy Policy.

Ending things

You can delete your account and data any time in Settings or via the web deletion page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

The boring but important part

Roots is provided "as is", without warranties; to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app (currently: nothing). These terms may change; material changes will be noted here.
